The Books
How an Author’s Journey Became a Story Across a Trilogy
This paperback novel, the first in a trilogy, spans 310 pages and approximately 70,000 words across 20 chapters. Written as a continuous narrative across three novels rather than a vignette collection, the story unfolds in Johannesburg, Rhodesia, Lesotho, Cape Town, and Mozambique, with each chapter introduced by a brief preamble.
At DeMele Verage Media, we believe stories aren’t merely written, they are born when nurtured with craft and courage.

The first book of my trilogy is drawn entirely from my own lived experience, yet the story quickly grew beyond its opening chapter. What began as a single volume could not contain the depth of the journey, and so Book Two emerged naturally, as the narrative continued to unfold.
At its heart, the story reflects the quiet wonder of life: moments when one finds oneself alone, only to encounter another person moving in parallel, mirroring thoughts, questions, and longing. As a young man driven by the desire to travel and discover the world, I set out in search of something I could not yet name. Ironically, that search became the foundation of Discovery and Desire.

Before the story fully reveals itself, there are pauses of reflection and emotion. Across borders and generations, individuals connect and form a close, almost inseparable bond. I look forward to introducing you to them, as the journey deepens in ways even I could not fully anticipate or understand at the time. What unfolded, with equal measures of joy and agony, shaped the story in ways I could never have imagined.
And so, my awakening began in the innocence of a young man.
Book 2
The writing journey of this trilogy has been transformative. While Book One reflects some lived experiences, Book Two blends mostly fact and some fiction, expanding reality into richness. If you believe movies made in Africa hold something special, you are right. These books carry that same spirit: immersive, heartfelt, and unforgettable. Writing them has felt like being inside a film that continues to play before my eyes every time I revisit the text.
The next two books expand the journey with deeper transformation, moments of risk, and the profound insights found along the way. Book Two steps into the unknown, where a simple business agreement spiralled into something far more precarious, shaping the course of what follows.
I felt like a small bird that had fallen from its nest, bruised but determined to fly high once more. I flapped my wings with all my positivity and hope. And here I am today, standing on the doorstep of releasing my second book.
Book 3
As the story moves through Books Two and Three, it grows beyond simple narration. The African setting and its people embody a hope and resilience that transcend experience itself. There is a soul within it that cannot be replicated.
Book Three continues this evolution, merging life and imagination in a way that is both deeply personal and universally human. It awakens to a reality full of metaphysical meaning and psychological depth, a transformation that could not exist without the first two books. Yet it would also not exist without four incredibly special people; only they will recognise themselves within its pages.
The essence of becoming
The fragments of awakening
The meaning carried forward
Thank you to all you beautiful people whose presence keeps my inspiration alive.
The Trilogy
This trilogy is not just a story. It is a journey carved from lived experience, emotion, and memory. A young soul steps into unfamiliar territory, carrying a heart too open for the world around him. What follows is a collision of love, loss, and the quiet fight for selfhood.
Though I stand openly as the sole creator, and while some elements may resonate with lived experience, the characters portrayed remain entirely private. These stories are original works, a tribute to endurance and the transformative power of connection.
Genre below
This work spans multiple genres: adventure, emotional depth, biographical threads, fiction, and romance. At times, it rises to psychological intensity, entrancing and raw. This is not traditional writing. It is lived experience, shaped into a story, sharpened by the reality of the core essence of life, and unafraid to challenge form. Book one is non-fiction based on true events, book two and three are a blend of fiction and non-fiction.
An inspiration for the young, and a truly comforting and resonant story for the seasoned generation.

The Genre

The story and its style intersect and fuse with philosophical realism, psychological reflection, and romantic adventure, enriched by elements of memoir. It is more than a narrative; it breathes. Each moment asks what it means to see, to feel, to be.
Smooth and fluid in rhythm and structure, it remains modern yet classical, timeless in tone. It speaks to readers seeking depth, meaning, and emotional truth, yet it reads like a life living journey on the screen, vivid, reflective, and alive.
Unbound by rigidity, the writing offers readers philosophical and psychological fiction that is classical in soul. It crosses continents and cultures, shaped by lived experience rather than doctrine, a style uncommon today, yet rich in depth and meaning for readers who seek more than entertainment.
The journey moves through longing, discovery, love, loss, reflection, and quiet triumph. Every symbol, the bird, the leaf, the bridge, the valley, works not as metaphor alone but as psychological memory made visible, tracing the soul’s search for truth.
Set across shifting continents and inner landscapes, it follows a life shaped by love, distance and rediscovery. It begins in the outer world and ends within, where the essence of life reveals the quiet beauty of awakening. There, reflection becomes a renaissance where transparency turns into true clarity, allowing us to see through ourselves.
And in its purity, it helps us understand the full journey from then to now, inviting the reader to feel as much as to see, to dress in the emotion of each moment, and to live the story rather than merely read it.
