Marsello Verrecchia, Author, Founder, Creative Strategist
Marsello Verrecchia, also known as Marcello Verrecchia and Marcel Veri, is an Australian author, entrepreneur, and creative strategist, writing under the pen name DeMele.
Italian-born and originally from Cassino, Italy, Marsello grew up across Italy, Switzerland, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Australia. This multicultural journey, together with a blended heritage spanning Italian, Irish, Swiss, African, and Australian roots, shapes a literary voice that moves naturally across cultures, languages, and emotional landscapes.
He writes from lived experience, drawing on movement, displacement, and belonging as recurring themes. Fluent in Italian and English, and conversant in Swiss German, French, and some Afrikaans, his work carries a quiet multilingual warmth rather than overt translation.
Before turning to literature, Marsello built a career in engineering, project management, and enterprise software. He holds an MBA in Business Administration, diplomas in Mechanical Engineering and Project and Contract Management, and has pursued further studies in HVAC Engineering and Architectural Science. Through his company, Verique Pty Ltd, he has led global teams and developed systems that bridge technical rigour with human insight.
This professional foundation informs his writing with structure, clarity, and realism, without defining it. His work remains grounded in story first, experience second, and profession only where it serves understanding.

Writing under DeMele, he works across literary fiction, psychological fiction, romance, reflective non-fiction, poetry, and philosophical essays. His work explores the inner architecture of human experience: desire, identity, loss, love, leadership, memory, and awakening. His writing style brings together the precision of a trained engineer and the soul of a poet, resulting in prose that is structured yet fluid, deeply reflective yet grounded, emotionally intelligent, and deeply lived.
His debut trilogy begins with Discovery and Desire, Book One of Three, which garnered unprecedented early attention in 2024 through curated excerpts shared on LinkedIn, attracting international engagement well before formal publication. His stories do not chase trends; they emerge from time, solitude, and renewal, carrying a mature voice that bridges generations, cultures, and disciplines.
At the core of his work lies psychological depth, expressed through lived intimacy rather than sentimentality. He writes between worlds, giving voice to what often remains unspoken: the space between grief and grace, reason and emotion, memory and possibility. His narratives invite reflection as much as feeling, positioning the reader not only as a witness, but as a participant.
His second and third books take a markedly different stance, while never drifting away from reality. They reveal that Africa offered something wholly unexpected: a sense of adventure, intensity, and lived thrill that reshaped the journey in ways he could not have foreseen.
Whether guiding founders, mentoring creatives, or shaping stories, Marsello lives by a simple philosophy:
no show, no limelight, only passion, substance, and integrity.
He offers insight and practical support without taking the spotlight from your story, your name, or your success.
His work invites readers not merely to read, but to live the story and to remember.
